| My name is Jennifer Sepell, and I live in beautiful Traverse City, Michigan, Cherry Capital of the world and Home of the National Cherry Festival. My first contact with Maltese came while I was raising my granddaughter who had very bad allergies, but desperately wanted a dog. Our doctor said to investigate the Maltese breed, as it would be compatible with her problems. I purchased a male puppy, Keifer, who had a wonderful pedigree and was a beauty. However, because the breeder had taken him from his mom too early and crated him alone, he had not been properly socialized, and unfortunately, did not get along well with people. I chose to keep Keifer, but continued to search for another loving dog more suitable for my granddaughter. I ended up not only finding a beautiful female, Jenna, but was also given breeding rights. After much study and guidance, I began breeding Jenna, and she eventually blessed me with several healthy litters. Over the years, my family, friends, and I have learned and come to appreciate what a calming and caring little breed the Maltese is. It’s no wonder the Maltese used to be called the “Comforter” breed. A few years ago I was fortunate enough to meet Anna Engstrom of Grand Rapids, Michigan, breeder of the “Eng” line, who has been breeding Champion dogs for over fifty years. She gave me her trust and the privilege of breeding my female with one of her Champion males. Another breeder, Carol Armstrong, the “Miss T’s” line, gifted me with the VERY handsome “Miss T’s Blizzard of Eng” (Izzy). He was my first opportunity at show. With my handler Cindy Butsic, of Northwind Lhasas, and her invaluable guidance, I was able to experience rapid and astonishing results - Izzy became a Champion in only a few short months! Presently I am preparing my newest, beautiful female “Olive Tree Miss T’s All That Jazz” for show. I am very proud of her pedigree, a combination of the Eng’s and Miss T’s lines. My love and gratitude go out to family and friends for their continued support in this ongoing, fulfilling endeavor. _____________________________________________________________ “I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give us unconditional love.
